How it works

Fast discovery. Careful confirmation.

Search is built to be instant. Registration is built to be authoritative. Four explicit steps separate a good idea from a live domain.

From a search box to a live product — four explicit steps, no surprises in between.
  1. 01Search

DNS and RDAP signals stream in live as you type, across 213 extensions in a single pass. What you see is the registry's current answer, not a cached list.

  2. 02Quote

Before anything is charged, the registrar confirms authoritative availability and the final price. Renewal cost and any registry requirements are part of the same quote.

  3. 03Register

Once you accept the quote and payment clears, the registrar completes the registration. The order is recorded in your GoName account with the confirmed terms.

  4. 04DNS

Where supported, a DNS zone is created and the nameservers are set automatically. The domain is live and ready to point at whatever you build next.

A search result is not a reservation. A name can be taken between search and purchase, which is why the registrar gives a final answer before any payment is accepted.

Direct checkout is being rolled out. Some extensions currently route to a registrar partner to complete registration — the price and terms you confirmed still apply.
